Believe it or not, but before Caitlin & Joe’s engagement session, I had never been to Cannon Beach! I was born and rasied in Oregon and have lived here all of my life. I have visited several coastal towns, but just never made it over to one of the most popular spots for photographers: Haystack Rock at Cannon Beach. I’m so glad I finally had the opportunity to shoot here!
It’s alwasy risky scheduling a photo session at the coast in February because you never know what kind of weather you will end up with. It rains a lot this time of year, and the winds can get pretty strong. Luckily for us, the rain and wind held back this day, and although we didn’t have any sunshine, we still created beautiful photos!
Caitlin’s family owns a beautiful home on the beach, so they knew of the perfect spot to have their engagement session. It was also super special to them because it’s where they got engaged!
The beach was extremely private while still having a view of Haystack Rock, so it was the perfect location for this fun session!
The outfits that Caitlin & Joe chose for their session were absolutely perfect for this setting! They started out with a cozy, neutral color look that complimented the sand, and then changed into tones of blue to bring out more of the ocean. It’s always a great idea to choose outfits that compliment your location choice rather than distract from it.

This engagement session was a blast, and I’m so excited to capture Caitlin & Joe’s wedding this October! They are getting married at the Oregon Golf Club, one of my favorite venues. It’s a perfect location for classic and timeless weddings!
